Thursdays Doors

Three quite different doors today – Firstly we have a fabulous classical door built to house the offices of A. BRANSOULIE who were a merchant company who, in 1848, bought and operated the adjacent 14th Century Moulin des Tours (The Tower Mill) on the Gelise River in Barbaste – The premises are now used to house the local tourist office and the Mill designated as a Monument Historique owned by the town.

The next door is the Florist L’Oree des Arcades in the Cathedral square in the beautiful City of Bazas – I like this little shop as it is the epitome of the shops and restaurants found under the Arcades surrounding the Square.

Lastly is the door to the famous L’Apollo bar, restaurant and concert venue in the historic quarter of Bordeaux at Place Fernand Lafargue. It is the destination for lovers of Soul and Funk music and has regular concerts each month. It’s also a great place to sit, enjoy a drink or two and watch the Bordelais world go by.
